Gandhi Jayanti

                                                                “You must be the change you wish to see in the world “~ Mahatma Gandhi.

Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated on 2nd October 2019, at the Basketball Court in Kirpal Sagar Academy . The Principal, Dr Margaret and Dr Augustine, Director- Academics presided the celebration.The programme began with a prayer song “Vaishnav jan to tene kahiye” dedicated to Gandhiji by the school choir.

Gandhiji said “The need of the moment is not one religion but mutual respect and tolerance of different religions.” The students delivered speeches in English, Hindi and Punjabi ’ depicting the life of the great man who lived on the principles of ahimsa and non-violence.

The significance of the day was given by Dr Augustine through which he emphasised on upholding the values of Gandhiji and highlighted the sacrifice he made for the country. This was followed by a prayer ‘Bind us together Lord’ by the school choir.The programme concluded by singing the National Anthem .
