The Olympus Storm
Annual Sports day

The much awaited “Olympus storm” Annual Sports Day was held on Friday 25th October 2019, with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The programme began with the Principal Dr Margaret Augustine and Director- Academics Dr Augustine , the equestrians and the NCC cadets welcoming the esteemed chief guest, Ms Rajvir Kaur Rai (gold medallist- hockey) and the Olympian Mr Gurmail Singh (AIG). The day emphasised on the importance of sports in a child's life.

The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Then they took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with Olympic torch ceremony.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports captain. The students displayed a Karate display, a yoga drill, cloth drill, bouncing ball drill and various other drills mesmerising the audience with their energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

The games organized for the grandparents, parents and guardians saw an impressive participation.Fun time with a staff relay and a tug- of- war between the houses added to the enjoyment.Finally the entire school stood together to appreciate the winners. The overall champion trophy was awarded to the Sutlej house.

The sports meet concluded with an inspiring and motivating speech by the Chief guest followed by a vote of thanks by Mrs Sarabjit Mangat.
